Apple

Apple: 1968 to 1972

In 1968 H.M.V. (NZ) Ltd obtained the rights to the The Beatles newly formed label Apple Records. Apple singles were issued in their traditional black sleeves.
Apple Sleeve 1968 to 1972

Up until 1971, the Apple sleeves were printed with the same design on both sides. In 1971 the BOAC ad printed on the back was introduced.


Apple Sleeve back 1971 to 1972

Apple: 1972 to 1974

In 1972, His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd. was rebranded to EMI (NZ) Ltd.. The sleeves was changed accordingly. This sleeve had the same design on both sides.
Apple Sleeve 1973 to 1974

Apple: 1974 to 1976

In 1974 the EMI branding was removed from the sleeve.
Apple Sleeve 1974 to 1976

The label had "Made in New Zealand By His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd" printed on it right up to 1976 regardless of the HMV name change in 1972.
Apple Centre Label 1968 to 1976

The Apple label stopped releasing singles in New Zealand by the end of 1976.
