Liberty

His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd obtained the licensing rights to American label Liberty Records in New Zealand sometime in the mid 1950's. Until 1962, Liberty artists were released on His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd other labels, mainly London Records.   

Liberty: 1962 to 1967

In 1962  His Master's Voice (NZ) Ltd started marketing Liberty Records locally on it's own subsidiary label. Singles were issued in a unique sleeve.

Liberty: 1967 to 1971

Festival Records took over distribution of Liberty singles in 1967. Singles were issued in the Festival Records company sleeve.

Festival stopped releasing singles in New Zealand on the Liberty Records label in 1971.

Liberty: 1980  to 1986

The Liberty Record label was re-launched internationally again in 1980. In New Zealand EMI obtained the rights. Singles were issued in the EMI  company sleeve.

In 1986 Liberty Records stopped releasing vinyl singles in New Zealand.
