This site provides information about the record company sleeves used for New Zealand pressed and distributed 7" vinyl 45s. There are some gaps and possible mistakes. If you can add a correct date or sleeve please add a comment or email us. The images of the centre labels are meant to be a guide. Some record companies produced multiple variations of their labels. Too many to show here. This site is dedicated to record sleeves.

Roulette

Roulette: 1958-61

In 1958 Phil Warren acquired the license to release the American label Roulette Records in New Zealand. They were released in a unique sleeve or plan white sleeve.

There were also a few releases with 'Distributed By Top Rank NZ Ltd Auckland' printed on the lift hand side of the label. At the time Prestige Records and Top Rank were both owned solely or co-owned by Phil Warren. Roulette singles could have been issued in Prestige company sleeve but I don't know. If you can shed light on this please leave a comment.

Roulette: 1961-70

In 1961 La Gloria took over distribution of Roulette Records in New Zealand. I am unsure what sleeve they were issued in. It could have been the La Gloria company sleeve or the 'wallpaper' sleeve. If you can shed light on this please leave a comment.

In 1970 Philips Records took over the manufacturing and distributing of Roulette Record in New Zealand. I am unsure if the Philips made singles were issued in a Philips company sleeve or not. Philips Records (NZ) Ltd became PolyGram in 1970. After 1972 Roulette Records singles were either issued in a plain white sleeve or the PolyGram company sleeve.
